A blockchain platform has been launched in Switzerland that allows users to acquire a share in real estate in the form of tokens. So the tokenization of real assets appears to be becoming a new trend in the global economy. This blockchain platform complies with the requirements of two regulators. At the moment, only two real estate properties are offered on the platform as a test, but as early as the beginning of next year real estate offerings will become available to users. The platform offers a real piece of real estate and issues tokens that represent shares of that property. Investors can buy any number of tokens and track the progress of the sale of the remaining tokens of that property. At the same time, the seller can set additional conditions for the sale of the tokens. After the sale ends, each investor receives their portion of the tokens, which are associated with real funds held in the accounts of an investment firm in Liechtenstein. Representatives of the blockchain platform emphasized that initially the platform will be available to residents of Switzerland and Liechtenstein.
The platform will expand to other European countries as more real estate properties are added. At the same time, from a legal standpoint, each real estate property on the platform will belong to an investment company in Liechtenstein. "The properties that we tokenize have already received their own E-GRID number on the blockchain," emphasized Bastiaan Don, founder of the Blockimmo blockchain platform (Bastiaan Don). It is noteworthy that the Swiss regulator FINMA fully approved both the company's business model and the offering of share tokens. Thus, Blockimmo can continue its business without interference from regulators. Note that last week the Swiss government announced a new plan for the development of the blockchain industry. The government's plan is to create the best legal conditions so that the country can continue to develop as a leading hub of fintech, blockchain, and innovative companies from other fields.
